AYURVEDA AAHAR FOR SANTARPAN JANYA VYADHI
Aahar is vital in Ayurveda because it affects the body’s doshas and dhatus. A balanced diet helps prevent imbalances and supports overall health. “Santarpan janya vyadhi,” disorders are common today due to improper or over-nourishment, sedentary lifestyles and stress, leading to issues like obesity, diabetes, skin disorders and metabolic syndrome. By incorporating Ayurvedic dietary principles, individuals can manage and prevent these conditions, blending modern living with traditional wisdom.
Objective
These contests aim to:
- Increase awareness about Ayurvedic dietary guidelines, emphasizing how different foods and their qualities can impact health and well-being according to Ayurvedic principles.
- Inspire individuals to adopt healthier eating habits that align with Ayurvedic concepts, incorporating seasonal and traditional foods.
- Provide a platform for participants to demonstrate their culinary skills by preparing dishes that adhere to Ayurvedic guidelines, highlighting how traditional knowledge can be applied in modern cooking.
- Raise interest and appreciation for Ayurveda as a holistic approach to health, blending nutrition with lifestyle practices for overall wellness.

General Rules and Regulations
Submission Requirements:
- Registration via Google form with uploading Abstract mentioning method of recipe. Language should be English/Hindi
- Participants can participate individually or in teams/college of up to three members.
- Selected participants must present their recipe with detailed instructions and a list of ingredients to the jury on the contest day.
- Samyojanam will provide only the space for presenting the prepared recipe. Participants has to bring their ingredients, utensils, induction etc if required for competition.
- The participants can prepare their dish beforehand and bring to the competition.
Recipe Criteria
- Ingredients– Should be fresh, organic, and in line with Ayurvedic guidelines ,contests have restrictions on use of artificial colors, fragrance and preservatives.
- Presentation– The dish should be presented in a way that reflects Ayurvedic aesthetics, possibly including considerations for color, texture, and harmony.
- Participants should adhere to ethical practices in sourcing ingredients and preparing dishes.
- Participants should mention classical reference or present innovative idea. Plagiarism or use of copyrighted materials without permission is typically prohibited.
- Failure to adhere to contest rules or ethical guidelines may result in disqualification.
- The organizers may reserve the right to disqualify entries that do not meet the required standards or are deemed inappropriate.
Presentation Rules
- Participants has to present their recipes within 2 min in front of jury members, that adhere to Ayurvedic dietary principles and focusing on ingredients and preparation methods.
- Recipes need to be accompanied by displaying a list of ingredients, classical reference if there and explanations of how they support Ayurvedic health principles.
Judging Criteria
- Adherence to Ayurveda: How well the recipe adheres to Ayurvedic dietary principles and dosha
- Health Benefits: The potential health benefits of the dish and its alignment with Ayurvedic concepts.
- Creativity and Originality: Innovative use of ingredients and preparation techniques.
- Taste and Presentation: Overall flavor and visual appeal of the dish.
